Narak Kong Shak
King of Confessions - Stirring the Depths of Hell
Padmaverse translation, 2025
Rough support materials to learn the English rhythm with the traditional tune with alternative harmony notes for people with high and low voices (based on melody used at Khadro Ling, Brazil, 2016) .

Suggested approach to learning:
-
Listen to the recording a few times to get a feel for it (e.g. while driving, washing up, walking the dog - no need to concentrate too hard at this stage)
-
Listen to the recording while looking at the text
-
Notice the first strong beat of each line is in bold text
-
Notice the first syllable in some lines comes early, on the last beat of the previous line
- you won't have time to breathe between these lines, so just breathe when you need to by dropping a few words.
-
-
Listen while singing along quietly
-
If some parts are too high, try out the low harmony line (clip and visual representation below)
-
If some parts are too low, try out the high harmony line (clip and visual representation below)
-
-
Listen while singing along full voice - follow the melody, or harmony line, whatever is comfortable!

(Start with the melody, but then just stay on the blue note instead of following the melody down)

(Start on the yellow note, below the melody, then pick up the melody when it goes down to the orange note. You can follow the melody jump up, or stay on the orange note)

Start on the 'key note', which is the same as the last note, then go up to the orange note, and back down
